David Friedenson

Dave Friedenson is the Chief Medical Officer for Omega Healthcare where he leads the Clinical Documentation Improvement team.  Dave is an Emergency Physician from Colorado and is the past chair of ACEPs Coding and Nomenclature Committee, the past WG 1 chair of the ACEP Reimbursement Committee and the past Co-chair of the EDPMA State Regulatory and Insurance Committee.  He currently serves on the CNAC and Reimbursement Committees and the EDPMA Quality Coding and Documentation Committee.  He also is the emergency medicine representative to the Novitas and First Coast Contract Advisory Committees and.  Dave is a coauthor of the ACEP FAQs on the 2023 Documentation and Coding guidelines and is faculty of the ACEP Independent Master Class.  Dr. Friedenson lectures and educates physicians and coders around the country and around the world on practice and revenue cycle topics, documentation and coding improvement.  Prior to working for Omega he was the compliance officer for a multispecialty practice, ED Chair, Peer Review and Quality Commmittee Chair and member of his hospitals' MECs.    In his spare time, Dave enjoys hiking, snowboarding and exploring the outdoors of the Rocky Mountain West with his family and friends.
