Sophia Spadafore

Sophia Spadafore, MD is the Assistant Medical Director of the Mount Sinai West Emergency Department in New York City, serving as an assistant professor in the Mount Sinai Department of Emergency Medicine. She also works as a Health Policy Analyst for the Mount Sinai Health System. Dr. Spadafore previously served as Chief Resident at The Mount Sinai Hospital/Elmhurst Hospital Center Emergency Medicine Residency. She has a strong interest in health policy and currently serves on the ACEP delegation to the American Medical Association (AMA). She was appointed to the EMRA Board of Directors from 2019-2023 to serve as the EMRA Representative to the AMA, and is now the Chair-Elect for the ACEP Early Career Physician Section (previously known as the YPS. After residency she completed a Health and Public Policy fellowship, earning a Masters in Political Science with a focus on health policy, and completing an internship at the Department of Health and Human Services.
